Frequently Asked Questions about Spring Soccer Academy

Q.        What is the Spring Format?
A.        The NKSC Spring Soccer Academy format will consist of one midweek training session broken by grade levels (some co-ed, some by gender) with a qualified NKSC trainer in a camp-style atmosphere with pick-up "shuffle" games on Saturdays. Players will be provided 5 training sessions and 5 pick up game days.

Q.        What is a "shuffle" game?
A.        The format is similar to street soccer.  Step 1) Players line up side by side and choose a card from a deck.  Step 2) Each field is named by a card.  Players go to their designated field to play a 8-10 minute 4v4 game.  Step 3) Repeat steps 1 and 2.  Depending on how quick everyone is to organize, three to four games can be played within the hour.

Q.        Is this program for my child?
A.        Yes!  The focus on our Academy Program is for ALL NKSC players regardless of age, program or ability level to have some fun while learning individual skills from experienced NKSC trainers. Both Recreational and Select players can benefit from participating.

Q.        Why did you create the Academy?
A.        NKSC is fulfilling the need for a balanced programming that challenges players of all abilities in a fun and creative learning environment. Our academy will raise the overall skills of our players while, for the first time, provide merging of all NKSC programs which will surely strengthen our club as a whole.

Q.        What about Spring League Soccer?
A.        The Academy is the only spring activity being offered by NKSC.

Q.        Will teams be Co-Ed?
A.        Yes.  Some age groups will be coed, and some not.  For details, see the Spring Program Information page here.

Q.        Can my child request a team? or Can my child be on the same team as his/her friend?
A.        We will not be forming specific teams for the Spring Academy. Players in each age division stay together throughout the whole 5 weeks.  Saturday games will be shuffled so that the players can have different teammates.

Q.        What is the cost per player?
A.        $65 per player

Q.        What if I need to pay by check?
