FALL RECREATIONAL Fall Programs POCs: Registrar: Cheryl Fogg - registrar@northkitsapsoccer.org Full Field: Mike Willmes - fullfield@northkitsapsoccer.org Small Sided: Kier Schmitt - mod@northkitsapsoccer.org
Recreational Programs are available for U6-U19 players: Micro (U6-U7) - Coed Small Sided Mod (U8-U10) - Small Sided Full Field (U11- U19) - U11: 9-a-side, U12+: 11-a-side
How are teams put together:
-
Coach volunteers are the number one factor in team formation. NKSC strives to build teams around available coaches. A team will not be formed if there is no coach.
-
Coaches will have their child on the team they are coaching (unless they choose otherwise, please indicate preference).
-
By default, returning players will be placed with the same coach/team as the last year provided they register by the Early Registration Deadline. After the Early Registration Deadline, all players are assigned at the discretion of the Registrar. Returning players may request to play with a different coach/team during registration.
-
We try to accommodate coach, carpool and returning player requests for registrations received by the Early Registration deadline on a first come, first served basis. Requests received after the Early Registration deadline may not be accepted.
-
Depending upon total enrollment, some multi-age teams may be formed to maintain reasonable team sizes.
-
Coaches will not be allowed to pick players for their teams in Recreational soccer.
Registration Fees:
Micro - $90 Register by May 31st and SAVE $25 per registration ($65) Mod - $120 Register by May 31st and SAVE $25 per registration ($95) Full Field - $125 Register by May 31st and SAVE $25 per registration ($100)
Registration closes June 30th.
Note: Additional uniform costs apply if required and can be ordered online during registration. Players moving to U12 must purchase a new non-reversible jersey. Micro participants do not require a jersey.
Micro Format: A typical session will be one hour in duration. The first half will be devoted to skills development training and the second half will be in a small-sided game format. The player-coach ratio will be 6-1 and the groups will be co-ed. There will be two weekday sessions per week for each player, with the season lasting 6 weeks (a total of 12 sessions). The sessions will begin in September after Labor Day and end in late October.
Mod/Full Field Practices: Practices begin in late August depending upon grade level. Coaches are asked to contact team members before 15 August. Practices are usually held throughout the season, once or twice a week for 1-1½ hours.
Mod/Full Field Games: The first games will be in September after Labor Day. The season ends in early November. Games are on Saturday & Sunday.

NK COMPETITIVE Select Program POC: Ed Skelly - select@northkitsapsoccer.org More Info: see our NK Select pages
NK Competitive Soccer is available for U11-U19 players: U11 - Small Sided - 9-a-side; maximum roster size 14 U12-U19 - Full Field - 11-a-side; maximum roster size 18
How Teams Are Put Together: Teams are formed through a tryout process - players must participate in the Tryout to make a team. Check our websites for days, times and locations. All players will be telephoned soon after regarding their status. Players that do not make a NK Competitive team will be able to register for a Recreational team.
Group Registration - Most tryout registrations will be for a team especially if the team is already established. If multiple teams are plannned for an age group, there will only be one registration initially and one group tryout for players to be considered for all teams in that group. The coaches and staff will determine team placement. After those teams are established in future years they may hold specific team tryouts for each team.
Play Ups - Normally discouraged or reserved for exceptional cases as this depletes the talent from the "natural age" teams. Recommend that your player registers for his/her "in-age" team then walks up to the other play up team.
Tryout Fee: Free.
Registration Fee (if player makes a team): $235 per player in 2009. After being notified of team selection each player should log back into the registration system and pay this. This fee includes a training stipend towrads team training (used at coaches discretion), league scheduling, liability insurance, referees, WA State Youth Soccer - Dist 4 & Association fees, field equipment (nets, goals, paint), fields & light fees to NKSD, etc.
Team Fee: Additional Team Fees are assessed and collected by your team. These fees vary by team but are needed for equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, team supplies, etc. As you can see if you already have a uniform and the team is established with required supplies these fees are substantially less than a new player on a start up team.
Coaching Fees: $0.00! None, zero, zip, nada. This is a MAJOR ADVANTAGE for NK Competitive families. We are a volunteer organization and no monthly coaching fees are charged. Coaches may, however, charge for tournament mileage and expenses (tournament hotel rooms, meals, equipment reimbursement) with proper mileage log and/or receipts as applicable.
